Morocco has awarded two additional contracts for civil engineering work on the high-speed rail line it’s constructing between the port of Kenitra and Marrakech, enterprise web site Zawya stories.
China’s Shandong Hello-Pace Group Co was awarded a civil works contract value $410m for section 2, which runs 64km between Rabat and the city of Zenata.
And native contractor Travaux Généraux de Building de Casablanca was awarded a $205m contract for civil works for section 4 of the road – a 51km stretch.
In early September, China Railway Quantity 4 was chosen to hold out civil works on section 1 of the scheme (see additional studying).
The packages are a part of an extension of the high-speed line between Tangiers and Kenitra to Marrakech, by way of Rabat and Casablanca.
The 430km line is being constructed by the Moroccan Nationwide Workplace of Railways (ONCF) and is mission managed by French engineers Egis and Systra, in addition to Morocco’s Novec (see additional studying).
In addition to laying monitor, the mission will refurbish the stations alongside the route, which incorporates the city centres of Rabat, Salé and Casablanca. There can even be two terminal stations and a upkeep workshop.
When full, in time for the 2030 World Cup finals, the road will enable trains to run at 320km/h.
