Flames engulfed stilt properties within the Isla Puting Bato shanty city within the Tondo district of the Philippines’ capital between 8am and 4pm yesterday.
Authorities are investigating the reason for the hearth. CNN feedback that fires in Manila’s slums are sometimes ignited by defective wiring or gasoline canisters.
