AISC elects steel industry veteran to board to deepen expertise

The American Institute of Metal Development (AISC) has elected Zach Moon, vice chairman and normal supervisor at Nucor Corp., primarily based in Charlotte, N.C., was elected to its board of administrators.

“We’re happy to have Zach as the most recent member of our board of administrators,” says AISC president Charles J. Carter, SE, PE, Ph.D. “His background and expertise make him an amazing match, and he’ll improve the breadth and depth of the group.”

Moon began at Nucor in 1998 as a caster inspector and has been with the corporate since then. In that point, he’s held supervisory and managerial positions at Nucor-Yamato Metal in Blytheville, Ark., and Nucor Metal Berkeley in Huger, S.C. He additionally spent two years as vice chairman and normal supervisor at California Metal Industries, primarily based in Fontana, Calif.

Moon serves on the Los Angeles department board of administrators of the Federal Reserve Financial institution of San Francisco.
