Kilkenny-based start-up Auto Coupler has at present (16 January) been introduced because the winner of the 2025 AgTechUCD ‘One to Watch’ Award.
Auto Coupler was named winner through the fourth iteration of the AgTechUCD Accelerator Programme, following a last pitching occasion held on the Innovation Centre at College School Dublin’s (UCD) Lyons Farm in Kildare. In September, Auto Coupler was topped the winner of AgTechUCD Award on the Nationwide Ploughing Championship.
The corporate is the creator of the Auto Coupler system, which permits a tractor or digger loader to connect to any agricultural implement, robotically coupling the loader’s hydraulic circuit to the implement after which locking the implement in place with the loader’s locking system. As founder Seamus Kenny succinctly put it, it permits loader operators “to alter an implement with out leaving their seat, in 4 seconds, on the contact of a button”.
The enterprise claims that its system has security benefits over standard methods, because the operator doesn’t have to depart the cab of the machine when attaching or disconnecting any attachment or implement.
Celebrating the win, Kenny mentioned that he thought of it a “nice honour” to simply accept the award.
