The Canadian authorities is becoming a member of forces with the Ontario provincial authorities and town of Toronto to fund a significant housing scheme on Toronto’s waterfront.
They’ll contribute a mixed US$680m to construct round 14,000 properties, together with reasonably priced rental housing, with every layer of presidency contributing a 3rd of the whole.
The federal authorities is spending a further US$140m to assist flood prevention measures.
The programme is being overseen by Waterfront Toronto, which was fashioned to develop 800ha of Lake Ontario’s shoreline.
