The governor of Lagos State in Nigeria has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Civil Engineering (CCECC) for the development of a bridge over the Lagos Lagoon between the port metropolis of Lekki and the city of Epe.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu concluded the preliminary settlement in Beijing yesterday, after which he launched an announcement on X to say that the Lekki–Epe Hyperlink Bridge was wanted to lower congestion and enhance the lives of Lagosians.
He stated: “Now we have had discussions about awarding the EPC [engineering, construction and procurement] contract to CCECC, and feasibility and design research for the undertaking have been performed.”
The settlement was made in the course of the China–Africa Cooperation Summit, and was witnessed by Nigerian president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Sanwo-Olu additionally signed a preliminary settlement to put in 50MW of solar energy methods in various universities, together with the Lagos State College of Science and Know-how, Lagos State College of Training and Lagos State School of Drugs.
