Bechtel has gained a contract to construct a 360MW solar energy plant in Calhoun County, Michigan, from Chicago-based renewables developer Hecate Vitality.
The ability, referred to as Sunfish Photo voltaic 2, could have 620,000 bifacial photo voltaic panels set over 1,300 acres. Bifacial panels soak up daylight from each side.
It’s the primary part of Hecate Vitality’s deliberate 1GW improvement within the county.
When completed in 2026, the Sunfish improvement will generate sufficient power to energy about 183,500 Michigan houses.
Bechtel stated work on Sunfish Photo voltaic 2 will begin this yr and would create round 350 building jobs at peak.
The corporate didn’t disclose the worth of the contract.
