Spanish contractor Acciona has leased a latest-generation hydrogen gasoline cell generator from a UK firm to switch diesel engines on a building challenge in Madrid.
UK fuel-cell developer AFC Vitality instructed the London Inventory Trade yesterday that it had shipped its 45kVA H-Energy Generator to Madrid with a 60kWh battery.
Miguel Paris Torres, an govt at Acciona’s Development Enterprise R&D Centre, mentioned the transfer mirrored his firm’s ambition to decarbonise its building enterprise “over an aggressive timescale”.
He mentioned the displacement of diesel engines from websites was “a key component of that technique”.
“We proceed to see hydrogen as a big pillar of our decarbonisation technique and imagine our partnership with AFC Vitality will see rising alternatives to displace diesel on websites with hydrogen energy era beginning this yr,” he added.
