Indonesia plans to impose a moratorium on new-build motels, villas and nightclubs in some areas of the favored resort island of Bali to deal with overdevelopment, Reuters studies.
Hermin Esti, a senior official on the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Funding Affairs, informed the company that the federal government had agreed on the moratorium, though its timing was nonetheless below dialogue.
Bali’s interim governor, Sang Made Mahendra Jaya, had beforehand instructed the moratorium in 4 of Bali’s busy areas to the central authorities.
Senior minister Luhut Pandjaitan was quoted by information web site Detik as saying the moratorium may stretch as much as 10 years.
