New Jersey roadbuilder MV Contracting has agreed to pay $950,000 to resolve allegations it represented itself as a deprived enterprise enterprise (DBE) to acquire federal contracts, whereas not accepting any legal responsibility over the costs.
In accordance with the US Legal professional for New Jersey, the corporate allegedly received a number of contracts reserved for DBEs from the Federal Freeway Administration (FHA), regardless of not being a DBE.
The FHA created DBE contracts to counteract discrimination in federal freeway work.
The case was introduced by assistant legal professional Mark Orlowski of the Well being Care Fraud Unit in Newark.
