Spanish contractor Acciona has gained contracts for New York’s new Hip Hop Museum within the Bronx and the renovation of the Museum of Immigration on Ellis Island.
On the Hip Hop Museum, Acciona Cultura will create a 55,000-sq-ft house for exhibitions celebrating the style’s contribution to society forward of its opening in late 2025.
On Ellis Island, Acciona Cultura will assist add 100,000 sq ft of exhibition house over the 34-year-old Museum of Immigration’s three flooring.
In April 2024, it was introduced that $100m would go in direction of the refurbishment and extension of the museum, which is predicted to be accomplished in 2026.
Alex Manresa, Acciona Cultura’s US director, stated: “The historical past of immigration via Ellis Island and the contribution of Hip Hop to world tradition are two of America’s most compelling and interesting tales, and we take big delight in being part of how they are going to be advised.”
