A workforce made up of North American engineers AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs and Westinghouse has landed a 10-year contract value $2.3bn to function a nuclear waste remedy plant for the US Division of Power.
The power will flip uranium hexafluoride, a risky chemical used to provide nuclear gas, into the extra steady type of uranium oxide.
The three engineers will present safety, emergency administration and fireplace safety companies in addition to working and sustaining utilities.
They’ll work at three places: Paducah in southwest Kentucky, the Lexington Area Workplace in northeast Kentucky and Portsmouth in southern Ohio.
AtkinsRéalis, which is predicated in Montreal, has operated and maintained services for the Portsmouth Paducah Mission Workplace since 2016.
