Chile’s predominant freight port at San Antonio is on the lookout for a contractor to construct a 4km-long breakwater for a deliberate $4bn enlargement, the Latin Information web site reviews.
The $1.5bn breakwater challenge consists of new roads, a railway to a neighborhood quarry, and dredging 14 million cubic metres of seabed.
San Antonio is within the Valparaíso area west of the capital, Santiago.
