French civil engineer Eiffage has received a €100m design-and-build contract to renovate and broaden the container terminal at Matadi, the most important seaport within the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The work was awarded by Matadi Hall Terminaux à Conteneurs (MCTC) and consists of the development of a dock 350m-long and 30m-wide in entrance of present docks.
Three 20m-wide bridges will even be constructed over the dock. There will even be an operations constructing, a workshop and a refurbished 7ha logistics hub.
The undertaking is because of be accomplished inside 27 months, with the dock remaining operational all through.
Matadi is located on the left financial institution of the Congo River, 148km upstream from the mouth of the river.
