An estimated 7,500 houses, concentrated in however not restricted to the northwestern county of Donegal, have been affected by the so-called “Mica Disaster”, wherein houses constructed largely from the late Nineties and into the 2000s have an excessive amount of of the mineral, muscovite mica, current within the combination of their concrete blocks.
