A Serbian courtroom on Saturday ordered 10 folks, together with a former minister, to be detained for as much as 30 days over the collapse of a concrete awning at Novi Unhappy railway station on 1 November, killing 15 folks.
One other two folks had been positioned below home arrest, AFP reviews.
Native media reported that Goran Vesic, who resigned as Serbia’s building minister after the collapse, and Jelena Tanasković, who this week stepped down as performing director of the state-run railway firm, had been amongst these arrested.
The collapse occurred after the station was renovated. After the collapse, state officers and the contracting consortium stated the renovation didn’t embrace work on the awning.
Public demonstrations broke out after the catastrophe, with some blaming the deaths on corruption and insufficient oversight of a public-sector challenge.
The principle goal of the protests was the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, and centred on requires Vesic to step down.
State broadcaster RTS reported that Tanaskovic and one other suspect had been positioned below home arrest with digital surveillance for 3 months.
Different detainees are suspected of violations of public security.
