A world JV has acquired marching orders for $113 million in new building at U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz in Guam.
The U.S. Division of Protection tapped the Granite-Obayashi 2 Joint Enterprise, a partnership of Watsonville, California-based Granite Development and Japan’s Obayashi, to assemble new services on the strategic outpost, the Marine Corps’ first new base in 70 years.
The contract requires the development of low-rise services to help the Marine Expeditionary Drive ninth Engineer Assist Battalion.
Buildings will function strengthened concrete structural frames, partitions, flooring, roofs and shallow basis methods. Services embody an auto group store, {an electrical} and communications upkeep store, natural storage, car wash rack and a car laydown space.
