The federal government of Portugal has requested France’s Vinci to submit a proposal for the development and operation of a brand new worldwide airport for Lisbon, the Aviacionline web site stories.
Portugal needs the €9bn airport to be financed privately on a public-private partnership foundation, with out counting on public funds.
The transfer comes eight months after talks started between the 2 sides (see additional studying).
The airport is deliberate for the municipality of Alcochete, on the opposite facet of the Tagus River from Lisbon.
The federal government is hoping to finish the primary part by 2034, at which level work can start on dismantling Humberto Delgado airport, which is working at peak capability.
